The collection of your Race Pack (Athlete Check In) must be completed before the race.
You will collect your Event T-Shirt, Race Number & Timing Responder. Please ensure you bring a copy of your Registration Confirmation Email to ensure an efficient Race Pack Pick Up (Athlete Check In) Process for everyone and line up in the appropriate line for your chosen event.

Out of towners – please contact us (before the 24th August) if you require a special Race Pack Pick Up.
There is car parking at:

- Brian Byrnes Reserve (50+ Spaces)
- Craig Road (150+ spaces)
- Milford Road (50+ spaces)
Please ensure that you DO NOT Park anywhere on the course route, within coned areas or where No Parking Signs are on display as this will result in disruption for you and your fellow participants.
Carpooling is a great idea, especially when you have a competition on who has to drive home!
Parking slightly further away and jogging to the start is also a great idea. The Bruce Mason Centre Car Park in Takapuna is only a flat 2.4km to Milford Reserve.

This exciting initiative is made possible by the honesty of our customers!You will be emailed post event when all the photos have been uploaded to the Photos4sale website. A few key things to remember:
- Have your Race Number visible on the front of your Race Top.
- A smile and a wave goes a long way when you want to share your photos on Facebook.
- Jumping, Waving Arms, Dancing, Handstands etc (although completely optional and sometimes impossible when running a marathon) provide some great photos and you may just end up featuring in our event photos in future years.
While you are responsible for your own safety and enter this event at your own risk, the event organisers would like to bring the following items to your attention.
It is important that you read the event rules and follow each of the safety guidelines of the event:
- First Aid is located at the Race Headquarters – Milford Reserve, Craig Road, Milford. Additional Medical Teams will be following the events.
- Participants only are allowed on the Course and Start/Finish Area. Everyone is welcome at the Recovery Zone.
- No Spectators or supporters are allowed to follow participants at any stage of the event.
- ALL New Zealand Road Rules Apply.
- ALL roads are OPEN to normal traffic. There are absolutely no Road Closures.
- You must run on the footpath at all times and within the safety cones.
- Do not cut any corners.
- Knowing the course is YOUR responsibility, please double check the course map as we have a number of off road sections.
- You MUST NOT compete under another persons identity as we need to know exactly who is on course for Health & Safety reasons and in case medical treatment is required.
- You MUST listen to and obey any instructions given by Race Officials.
- If you are walking or running in a group please do not walk or run more than two abreast.
- Please be aware of participants passing you from behind and keep to the left.
- Please seed yourself accordingly at the start. Fast at the front, Slow at the back.
- Please ensure you are at your correct event start for your chosen event. See Race Day Schedule.
- Be polite and give-way to other pedestrians and the general public. You are sharing the area with these people.
- Please ensure you have adequate and suitable clothing, Footwear must be worn, No bare torsos.
- Please ensure you are physically fit and healthy enough to complete your chosen distance. If you are unsure please seek advice from a medical professional.
- If you feel unwell or unfit to compete in the event we strongly advice you to withdraw immediately and seek assistance or professional advice.
- If another participant is in distress immediately offer assistance and inform a Race Official.
- Please report any accidents or incidents to a Race Official as soon as possible.
- All forms of wheeled conveyance including but not limited to wheelchairs, bicycles, inline skates, prams/buggies, skate boards, scooters are not permitted.
- No Prams, Buggies or Nordic Poles.
- No pets are allowed to accompany participants.
- Race Numbers MUST be worn on the front of your top at all times.
- Timing Responders are attached to the back of your Race Number
- Timing Responders DO NOT need to be returned after the event.
- The use if ipods, mp3, cellphones and walkman devices is discouraged for your own safety.
- The walking categories will not be judged and it would be appreciated if all walkers adhere to sportsmanship behaviour and walk the entire event if in the walker category.
- All participants under the age of 18 must have the consent of their parent or guardian.
- All competitors must have agreed to the event waiver.
- Entry Fees are Non-Refundable, however you can take advantage of our Event or Participant Transfer Policy.
As a stakeholder of Athletics New Zealand, the North Shore Marathon is committed to the advancement of clean sport that rejects cheating through the use of performance enhancing drugs and methods.
Athletics New Zealand has adopted the New Zealand Sports Anti-Doping Rules, and as such all stakeholders of Athletics New Zealand, including the North Shore Marathon choose to abide by these rules.

As per North Shore Marathon Event Rules, you may not compete under another person’s name. We need to know exactly who are on our courses for Health & Safety and incase medical treatment is required. We take participant safety seriously so please adhere to our rules.
It is also unfair on other participants if they are competing against someone from a different gender or age group.
In most cases, Distance Transfers are free and Participant Transfers are just $5, provided you complete them online before the 24th August.You can complete Transfers online by:
- Clicking on the links contained in your Registration Confirmation Email; or
- By logging into your ACTIVE.com Account before the 24th August.
If you do not have an ACTIVE.com Account, you will need to create one first. To do this, visit My Events and enter your registration ID in the “Claim your registration” box.
