course description

The North Shore Marathon, Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon, 5km and KIDS Mile will take place on Auckland’s beautiful North Shore and is widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s most Scenic Marathon and Half Marathon events.
The course is based on a 21.1km circuit that will see participants starting and finishing at Milford Reserve before taking in the beautiful Milford, Takapuna and Cheltenham Beaches then tackling the amazing Tunnels & Summit Loops (you don’t actually go through any tunnels) around Maungauika/Historic North Head.
This spectacular part of the course has been the showcase of the event since 2007 with Auckland’s best views over the city and out into the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto Island. Maungauika/North Head Historic Reserve is Treaty of Waitangi redress land of Nga Mana Whenua o Tamaki Makaurau, being the 13 iwi/hapū of Tāmaki Makaurau.
There course features a mixture of road, beach, and grass trails, so there is a bit of something for everyone.
